St. George thoracic and cardiovascular surgery clinic Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center, Moscow
Abstract
The article presents the main milestones in the formation and stages of the work of the cardiac surgery department, created by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu.L. Shevchenko in the structure of the St. George Pirogov Center Clinic for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Both the issues of clinical work and the scientific directions developed by the staff of the department are analyzed in detail, both for the previous 20-year period and at the present time.
